Crafted was highly recommended by a lot of my instagram followers. Y’all never let me down. The menu was scattered with novel specialty items, none of the usual staples of a typical brew pub. They call their menu “sophisticated gastropub”. Crafted is designed with beautiful, industrial furniture all the way down to the restrooms. They have a large turtle aquarium by the entrance and they hold turtle races every Friday at 10pm. If you guess the winner you get $1 beer. Crafted is a super fun environment full of young, knowledgable servers and bartenders. They seem excited to be there, sharing their little space of Coeur d’Alene with you.
I started with their Carrot Curry Soup and it was so much more than expected! Perfect spice, flavor, and consistency. Who ever though carrot soup could look so beautiful. They go above and beyond with their presentation. The steak sandwich had the texture of pulled pork although beef, but with a plethora of tastes. The side salad was fresh and simple. The perfect compliment to a good entree. We all had fries for lunch, so we chose to go the healthy route with the side salads but their fries looked delicious.
The burger was almost too pretty to eat. The bun was shiny and fresh and the ground beef, cambozola cheese, roasted garlic-bacon jam, arugula, black pepper apple cider aioli combo was bursting with flavor (it’s called the #42). Their menu is kind of hard to read but they are trying to be unique and different and I appreciate that. Once you figure out what a “BONO… BECAUSE HE SAID IT WAS GOOD” is… you are glad you ordered it. Turns out it is their way of saying pork tacos. Served on a corn tortilla with slow roasted pork, sesame dressing, pickled red onion, cilantro slaw, sriracha mayo. An explosion on the plate and an explosion of flavor. “With 50 rotating taps from breweries around the globe, Crafted features a beer list that is second to none.”
I can’t wait to come back here when it is warmer outside and enjoy their outdoor seating by one of their fire pits. This is prime hang-out spot to meet up with friends on the weekend and enjoy some great food and drinks. It’s not quite a bar scene, but better.
