"HOLIDAY ON THE AVE" - SPRAGUE UNION DISTRICT

Yesterday we had the privilege of previewing the fun of “Holiday on The Ave”, a holiday celebration in the newly renovated Sprague Union District.

Our day begin at The Tin Roof, which is a gorgeous furniture store that has been open since 1945! Heather, our gracious host and the owner of The Tin Roof, constantly gets new pieces and rearranges the showrooms, so no two visits are the same. From custom upholstery to interior design services to eye-catching décor, this family owned shop had everything to make your home look fab for all your holiday parties and beyond! The Tin Roof is offering a 60% discount on all holiday décor, and I left with a front door mat that says “Come In and Cozy Up”. I mean, how cute is that?

In a whirlwind of an afternoon, we visited over a dozen local businesses, all which you can visit this weekend at “Holiday on the Ave” for special deals and offers! If you are searching for sweets for your next holiday party, look no further than Spokane Cheesecakes. Their cheesecakes are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and if you buy three of their minis, get a fourth free! Check out this post for the all the rich details.

One of my favorite stops of the day was Blue Cat Vintage, where I scored the most gorgeous fur coat that I don’t plan on taking off anytime soon. They an amazing selection of high-end vintage items (clothing, boots, furniture) and I am definitely going to come back to spend way too much time (and money) here.

Another vintage store that will soon become a regular at is Two Women Vintage Goods. They have an impressive collection of Pendleton, authentic vintage items and repurposed items. If you need to take a break from shopping, they have a great little coffee shop inside. I tried the seasonal Peppermint Chai and it is truly one of the best Chai’s I’ve had.

Another other highlight from the day was the newly renovated Union Tavern Bar, a spotless, welcoming space with friendly servers. The Union Tavern Bar has a full bar with huge TVs, making it the perfect spot to watch your favorite team play on game day. Visit this weekend for cider specials throughout the “Holiday on the Ave” event.

Although my list highlights some of Sprague Union District’s best and brightest, it doesn’t even begin to encompass all the great local businesses that can be found in the area. So, that’s why you need to go out and join the festivities at Holiday on the Ave!

Visit the Tin Roof to see Santa, listen to carollers and live musicians, warm-up with refreshments, grab something tasty to eat, and most importantly, go out and explore all the great local business in Spokane’s oldest shopping district.
