THE CULINARY STONE

THE CULINARY STONE
“Welcome to the culinary lifestyle marketplace, where gourmet living meets everyday prices. Discover specialty foods from around the world and the region, outfit your kitchen, and learn how to ‘live to eat.’”
The Culinary Stone aims to deal with local ingredients as much as possible. They recently signed a contract with Rugged Roots Farm and they get their cheese from the local favorite, Kelly Creek Farm, made with whole, unpasteurized milk. The Culinary Stone is coming up on their 4 year anniversary. All the bread used in the deli and bakery comes from Common Crumb Bakery, delivered every other day from Spokane. They only use top-quality Boar’s head meat in the sandwiches and they offer daily sandwich specials.
Their best seller is the Soprano made with Hot Capicola, Italian Ham, Sopressata, fresh Mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli, Italian seasoning, Coeur d’Alene olive oil & vinegar on fresh baked bread. All Italian Sandwiches are $9.95 and I’d recommend adding a side of their award winning bean-less chili. It’s extra cheesy with all the right spices. They will be offering various seasonal soups and Italian meatballs during the Fall months. If you are a bacon lover (who isn’t) then you’ll want to try their locally produced, thick cut bacon, free of all antibiotics and hormones. We tried the best seller, Soprano, and the Italian roast beef sandwich specialThis came with pickled red onion, Italian style, Coeur d’Alene balsamic, Provolone, and Garlic aioli.

Visit their bakery for their fresh pastries, tartes, breads, and more. They serve the most gorgeous carrot cake that I was drooling over. I have it on my list to stop in and try it next time I am in the area! You can also find your favorite warm beverages like Winterwoods Tea, Prana Chai Tea, and even a Salted Caramel Apple Latte. Have a special occasion coming up? They do customized cakes! One of the coolest parts about The Culinary Stone is their full kitchen set up for cooking classes! The classes are offered a couple times a week at $35/ person. Check their website for class dates and information.
