ZEPHYR LODGE

Liberty Lake is home to many wonderful attractions and hidden gems, and one of them is the charming and cozy, century old time capsule, Zephyr Lodge. This serene escape is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, or a mid-week break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

About the lodge?

When Zephyr Lodge was built, in 1902, no expense was spared! The home was covered in wall-to-wall carpeting, with expensive heating and lighting in each room. The Zephyr was known for its gambling and liquor sales as well as other unmentionable activities. In 1946, the hotel was sold to the Christian Church “Disciples of Christ”. In July of 2016, a local Spokane family purchased the lodge, and they are in the process of revitalizing and preserving this magnificent building to its original beauty.

At Zephyr Lodge, guests are treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty, including rolling hills, lush forests, and, of course, Liberty Lake. The lodge itself is designed to blend in with its natural surroundings, offering a true escape from the stresses of everyday life. It’s tranquility at its finest!

The hospitality at Zephyr is top notch and one of our very favorite parts about them is their love for local!! Not only did we get to relax at this lakeside retreat, but we were also able to enjoy some fabulous local partner businesses that made our stay EXTRA sweet (pun intended).

Local Business Love

First, we snacked on one of the most gorgeous charcuterie boards ever from Boards by Brit! They make custom charcuterie boards hand-crafted and thoughtfully curated for any occasion! Ours was extra festive with some heart and love flairs for a romantic date night spread.

Then, we got to enjoy (and are still enjoying) a STUNNING rose floral bouquet in a heart flower box from, Moon & Bloom Flower Co. They make luxury arrangements, spreading happiness one stem at a time and they defintiely put a big smile on my face!

It wasn’t long before we dug into the treats, hand-made with love from Made with Love Bakery! oh my gosh, the chocolate cupcake was everything I wanted it to be and more! We won’t mention how many pink heart cookies I let Bayler consume… no treat rules on vacation, am I right?!

Speaking of treats, Cozy Coffee in Spokane Valley also gave us a gift card to satisfy our caffeine craving the morning after our stay as we headed back into Spokane.

After we snacked, unpacked, and explored a bit, it was time for the ultimate Valentine’s Date Night experience in the lodge, from Every Moment Events. Now, I don’t do tents or camping, but this kind of tent date night was incredible! The team at Every Moment Events thought of everything! It was such a cozy set up with blankets and pillows, a table with plates and glasses, all set up right by the wood burning fire in the lodge! We were the only ones there and it felt so quiet and serene! 10/10 recommend this set up for your next date night, or a fun sleepover idea for the kiddos.

Room details

The rooms at Zephyr Lodge are cozy, comfortable, and filled with all the amenities you need to feel at home, and more importantly… at peace. There are a variety of sleeping accommodations with something for everyone! We stayed in the Lower Lodge Suites which feature four 2-bedroom apartment units, complete with a gorgeous lake view, living room, kitchenette, private bathroom, and two bedrooms with a queen bed in each. These spaces are perfect from families and guests who desire more privacy (and a/c / heat).

You can also choose to stay in the historic main lodge which holds 12 bedrooms available for rent. Each room is uniquely designed and holds one queen bed. With 11 rooms on the top floor and one downstairs, the lodge also holds 4 shared bathrooms. This mansion, rich with history, is perfect for keeping all your wedding guests close after the big party!

Finally, the property is also home to 5 “glamping style” cabins. These are screened in and recommended for rental in the warmer months (though they are currently installing stoves in each). The cabins share access to a nearby restroom building. With two queen beds in each, this is a major upgrade from camping!

Each room has its own unique style and character, with features such as fireplaces, private bathrooms, and plush beds. Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a family-friendly adventure, Zephyr Lodge has a room that will meet your needs.

In addition to its peaceful setting, Zephyr Lodge also offers a range of activities to keep guests entertained. Take a stroll through the forest, go fishing in Liberty Lake, or simply relax on the lodge’s spacious deck and soak in the stunning views.
