11 MEALS UNDER $10 THAT WILL ACTUALLY FILL YOU UP

11 MEALS UNDER $10 THAT WILL ACTUALLY FILL YOU UP

Obviously I love to eat out, but I am also on a newlywed, medical student budget. So, most of the time I try to find places around Spokane that don’t cost an arm and a leg to enjoy a good meal. Here are my favorite findings for under $10.

BREAKFAST

The Mason Jar (101 F St, Cheney, WA // 509.359.8052)

MASON JAR

We drove to Cheney for brunch yesterday and it was 100% worth the drive. See that dish barely in the top left corner? You need it, in your mouth, ASAP. Trust me. We ordered The Classic, Eggs En Cocotte, and French Toast. Lets start with The Classic. HOLY WOW. No wonder this is their most popular breakfast dish. The biscuit was so fresh and flakey, the eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheddar were equally distributed and smothered in their homemade garlic aioli, which literally blew our minds. You guys, this garlic aioli was life changing. I must have the recipe and I must put it on everything I eat from this point forward. I went to take the first bite by picking it up and taking a bite… yeah, this biscuit is meant to be eaten with a fork. It is stuffed full, juicy, and the biscuit falls apart, which i’m not complaining about. All of their breakfast dishes are right around $6.50. See more: HERE

Ephata Cafe (1908 W Northwest Blvd // 509.328.8888)

EPHATA

His (Green Juice) & Hers (PB&J Smoothie)

Alright y’all, this place is such a hidden gem! Run by a sweet Korean woman who knows what she’s doing in the kitchen! I love their Korean rice bowls & lettuce wraps. The fresh juices/smoothies are the cheapest I have found and “the hurricane”… No words. MUST TRY! Their smoothies range from $4-6 and their juices range from $4.50-6.50. They also have a variety of breakfast foods and pastries all under $7. So, grab a smoothie and a Breakfast Sandwich for under $10. See more: HERE

Wellness Tree Health Center & Juice Bar (1025 South Perry St. Spokane, WA //509.598.8558)

Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese (1735 W Kathleen Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID // 208. 664.1717)

MELTZ

You guys… I had SUPER high expectations for Meltz… and my expectations were exceeded! We were greeted by everyone in the kitchen as soon as we entered the front door. If they know it’s your first time the cashier will give you a FULL rundown of the menu, favorite sandwiches, soups, chip & dip samples and friendly conversation! He introduced me to the owner who was SO nice and passionate about what he does. He was in the kitchen working hard like all of his employees. If you are in the area or even not… drive to Meltz and show them some LOVE. They have something on their menu for everyone and some bomb chips & dips. I can’t wait to try some more of their concoctions including their mac & cheese soup! I’m a Meltz fan for life after our wonderful experience today. You can choose to have your sandwich on sourdough or wheat- add $2.00 for gluten free bread. Half sandwiches are about $7 and fulls are around $10. A half order is PLENTY. see more: HERE

Hong Kong Express (113 E Indiana Ave, Spokane, WA // 509.328.7888)

HONG KONG EXPRESS

I struck “to-go lunch” gold! Fill this container with any assortment from their lunch buffet for $6.99! (As long as it closes, you are good) This fed me for 3 whole meals and I loved everything I tried. You can also dine-in for a little bit more, and you get unlimited food. They used to be on Division, but recently moved to Indiana.

DINNER

Borracho Tacos & Tequileria (211 N Division St, Spokane, WA // 509.822.7789)

BORRACHOS

$1 street tacos on Tuesday but be prepared to be patient because service is pretty slow. Showing by the half eaten taco, clearly SOMEONE (Dan) lacks that patience I was talking about. Favorites were: carne asada & pescado. Just be willing to be patient and hang out a while. They have a nice, big outdoor patio perfect for a nice Summer day. See more: HERE.

Wild Dawgs (102 N Howard St, Spokane, WA // 509.255.3688)

wild dawgs

It’s called the “I ❤️ Spokane dog” so naturally I had to try. Cream cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon, ketchup, dip sauce, pineapple sauce & mozzarella. Now that’s what I call a hot dog. Their hot dawgs are $6.45 and served with chips. They have happy hour every day from 3-6:30 and Flatbread pizzas for $5.95, too!

Atilano’s Mexican Food (802 W Francis Ave. Spokane, WA // 509.325.4046)

ATILANOS

Looking for cheap dinner tonight? Two chicken burritos with rice & beans for $7. Definitely enough food for two. The chicken was a lot better than expected and you can’t get much cheaper than this for the amount of food you’re getting. Great late-night option!

Where are your favorite “cheap eats”?

XOXO
