2 DAYS IN SEATTLE: WHERE TO EAT.
One of the best parts about living in Spokane is being a quick trip away from Seattle. In my opinion, the two cities couldn’t be more different. Seattle is all about the hustle and bustle. If you’re lucky enough to get to visit, be sure to try some of these spots.
Start your weekend at Pike’s Place Market. You can throw some fish, buy beautiful floral arrangements, visit the first ever Starbucks; The possibilities are endless. The gum wall was completed scraped off and cleaned a couple months ago but it’ll be full of gum more quickly than many would hope. Just stick a piece on there… it’s really not that bad. I hear it smells during the summer time, but I haven’t been lucky enough to experience that yet. Before they scraped it off in November, there was 20 years worth of gum, piled up to 6 inches thick!!! Beecher’s cheese is a must. They do Mac & Cheese like I’ve never seen it done before. Ooey, gooey, it’s a science. Visit their store by Pike’s Place to see the cheese making process. It’s epic.
Cutter’s Crabhouse. Washington fresh steel head, so moist and flaky, with roasted butternut squash, smoked chancellery mushrooms, grilled broccolini, butternut squash, with a brown butter vinaigrette. Very nice restaurant, right on the water by Pike’s Place. Great for a special occasion in the city.
Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya. Not all ramen is created equal. They had so many options, all with totally different flavors and spices. This is as good as ramen gets.
When in Seattle, do as they do. Ivar’s Clam Chowder is world famous. They have multiple locations in the city, but if you’re like me and have limited time, they have one in SEA/TAC Airport. (You can get this at the Bruchi’s location in Downtown Spokane.)
Molly Moons Homemade Ice Cream. I got the vegan sweet potato with a coconut base. UHHH-MAZING. They have so many unique flavors. This location was on Capitol Hill. They have rainbow painted crosswalks.. so yeah… pretty neat.
