BEST SUSHI IN SPOKANE

BEST SUSHI IN SPOKANE

We searched from the north side to the south hill, high and low for the best Sushi in Spokane.

We tried rolls ranging from your typical “California roll” to the most exotic Sashimi we could find. We have no fear! JK… I’m very fearful, but we were brave and fought through for the betterment of Spokane Sushi Fans!
After trying a variety, we narrowed it down to a couple of our favorites. We chose each of these restaurants based on why they stuck out to us.
1. Best Rolls – Flavor, Presentation, Quality
2. Best Ambiance & Service
3. Best “Bang for your Buck” (assuming you like Sashimi)

There were many close runners-up but what’s a “best of” list if you include everyone, am I right?! I understand that many of you may disagree, and that’s why I created this poll below. So, before you read about my favorites, vote for yours! (Let me know “why” in the comments at the bottom)

Best Ambiance & Service

Sushiwa Teriyaki (603 W Hastings Rd. Spokane, WA // 509.466.3436)

I am all about discovering underrated, hidden gems. This is one of those. It is tucked away on the north side, near Mead High School, so not many people know it exists. Sushiwa is run by a husband and wife- wife is the server, husband makes the sushi. They really work well together!

The ambiance in Sushiwa is what I think of when I think of a great sushi joint. It kind of looks like a dive and it is underrated and underexposed, but the sushi is oh so tasty! This was the most flavorful Sashimi of the bunch.

Best “Bang for your Buck”

QQ Sushi & Kitchen (1902 W Francis Ave, Spokane, WA // 509.279.2721)

At QQ Sushi, their rolls are a work of art. They are known for their sushi masterpieces, and you can see why. Their sushi chef is a true artist. So, if you’re looking for sushi so pretty it will make your day, QQ is your place.

Their sushi boat options are a great deal! These work best for a couple or small group where one loves sashimi and the other loves sushi, or you both like both. This sushi boat costs $30 which means each of you can get full on sushi for $15. Typically you can get one roll for about $15, so this is a great deal for sushi and sashimi lovers.

For those of you afraid of sushi…

BENTO BOX

Kinja (7458 N Division St, Spokane, WA // 509.474.9276)

If you are scared of sushi, ease into it with California Rolls. They are made with imitation crab and cream cheese. That is the most mild of sushi- assuming you order a roll with fish- I don’t even consider rolls without fish as sushi. Once you learn to love the California Roll, you can dive into the real sushi and try some of the more adventurous rolls.

This Bento box from Kinja is a great way to dip your feet in the sushi waters. It comes with 4 California Rolls, 2 Nigiri, tempura, dumplings, salad, teriyaki protein (salmon portion is huge for the price). The bento box give you the opportunity to try some mild sushi, but fill up on some less intimidating foods.

    1. Yuzen has been closed and renamed a couple of times now. The new restaurants name is I Love Tofu. I had a co-woker that moved here from Asia and was very dissatisfied with Yuzen’s sushi and service. I personally loved all of their soups (especially the seafood kimchi hotpot) and was sad to see it go. I’ve read nothing but great reviews for the new restaurant I Love Tofu and would love to read what you think about it too.

      1. Yes, I noticed that Yuzen has changed names a couple of times and I definitely need to get around to updating this post. Thanks for the reminder! Where do you get your favorite sushi in town?

  1. Check out izumi sushi on the south hill! Great service and they have a variety of delicious rolls! It’s definitely in my top 3 sushi places. I have also heard Umi sushi in Kendall yards is amazing as well.
