Downtown Spokane.
(Main Street)
They are doing a great job revitalizing the downtown area. When I first moved to Spokane, there wasn’t much reason to head downtown. It seemed like it was full of sub-par chain restaurants, beat up streets, overpriced parking, and it didn’t have much appeal. Since then, the city has done a great job of bringing in some new stores, opening new local restaurants, and they are working on their never-ending construction projects to make it easier to navigate downtown Spokane. Main Street is my happy place. It has some of my most favorite food, clothes, books, and stores in the city, all conveniently located on one street. If you haven’t explored Main Street, you have no more excuses.
Best Restaurant: Durkin’s Liquor Bar
They make EVERYTHING from scratch and their food is full of flavor. You can taste the effort that went into creating each dish. Oh, and we voted them best burger in Spokane. Trust me on this one. See more: Durkin’s
Famous Bookstore: Auntie’s Book Store
Aunties Bookstore is a Spokane gem that’s been around since 1978! Talk about some deep Spokane history :). Here, you can buy new books, explore their shelves, and even sell back your gently used books.
Vegan Bakery: Boot’s Bakery Cafe
If you have been following me for long, you know I have loved Boot’s for a long time. Mainly for their fabulous no-bake cookies, but they have a lot more than that to love. See more: Boots
Outdoor Patio/Bar Hangout: Grand Terrace & Table 13
The Spokane Davenport Grand Hotel’s hot new Terrace bar is lavish & swanky with a gorgeous view! It’s everything you’d want from a roof-top bar. So, grab a drink, some appetizers, and relax on their huge sectionals with fire tables.
Fresh Grocery Market: Main Market Co-op
I got to main market for their fresh peanut butter, hot/cold salad bar, bulk foods, cookies, fruit, patio chilling, more like what do I not go there for. This place is great, the employees are happy, and the food is fresh. See more: Main Market Co-Op
Spokane Public Library
AMC Movie Theater
Retail Stores: Lulu Lemon, Nordstrom, Anthropology, Apple, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, &Kloth Boutique
More Food: Mod Pizza, Sante Restaurant & Charcuterie, Madeleine’s Cafe & Patisserie, Saranac Commons: (Mediterrano, Common Crumb Artisan Bakery, Caffe Affogato, Black Label Brewery, etc.)
Did I mention that you should really try this burger from Durkins?
