BEST SMOOTHIES/JUICE IN SPOKANE

BEST SMOOTHIES/JUICE IN SPOKANE

I know that it appears that I eat a bunch of greasy, fried, creamy, buttery, cheesy, carby, amazingness all the time. But actually, I just eat those foods SOME of the time. The rest of the time, I love my fruits and veggies. One of my favorite snacks is a fresh pressed juice or fruit & veggie smoothie. These keep me going strong, they make me feel great, and they are a perfect way to get more fruits and veggies in my diet. (So I can enjoy the other stuff, if you know what I mean).

With all the convenient healthy drink spots in town, it’s just as easy to stop in for a fresh pressed juice or blended smoothie as it is to drive through Wendy’s for a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and french fries. I know what you’re thinking. “But i’d way rather have a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and french fries than some healthy *fru fru* drink.” Well, I know you THINK that, but give one of these smoothies a try and maybe you’ll change your mind. You’d be shocked at how kids suck them down too!

Ephata Cafe (1908 W Northwest Blvd // 509.328.8888)

EPHATA

The Hurricane Smoothie from Ephata Cafe is my favorite “healthy” smoothie in Spokane. It is made with pineapple, banana, kale, spinach, and pineapple juice. You can’t taste the vegetables at all. It is sweet, sour, and tart from the pineapple. But it’s not just made of fruit. They load it up with spinach and kale so you are getting the nutrients and vitamins from those dark leafy greens. The key to making any bad smoothie, good: add a banana. It’s a miracle worker.

We also really like their fresh pressed Green Machine juice and their PB&J smoothie. All of their juices and smoothies are made from wholesome, fresh ingredients that you can trust. Also, their entire menu is very fairly priced. They can serve an all organic smoothie or juice if you request it while ordering.

If you have been following my blog for long, you know I have a thing for the Acai Bowls at The Wellness Tree. Not to mention, it is gorgeous in there. Located on Perry Street, they specialize in fresh pressed juice, cleanses, and acai bowls. Their space is so bright with fresh succulents covering the wall! Their acai bowls are delicious and healthy and so many wholesome ingredients go into each of their juices.

I have yet to try a juice cleanse (drink nothing but juice for a period of days) but I do enjoy these drinks as a snack or immune boost if I feel I am getting sick. The owners are naturopathic doctors (chiropractor and acupuncturist) and they focus on balancing nutrition to help people feel better.

I forgot how much I loved peanut butter until I devoured this Acai Parfait. It is the perfect combination of sweet, salty, crunchy & fruity. Located downtown and with a new location on the North Side, Method’s menu is all organic and they recently introduced their pitaya bowls and smoothies. Pitaya fruit is packed with nutrition and healthy benefits and it’s hot pink, which makes it even cooler.

I get their green smoothie quite often, but be prepared, it is not nearly as sweet as the green smoothie at Ephata. This smoothie is healthy and you can taste the healthiness… if you know what i mean. But it keeps me coming back because I know how great I feel after I devour one of these.

Fusion Juice (103 S Howard St, Spokane, WA // 509.624.4263)

I was hesitant to try this smoothie called the “Cinnamon Surprise”, but it came highly recommended and I figured, why not. Who would have thought to dump a bunch of cinnamon into a smoothie??? I’m glad fusion did because I CRAVE this one all the time! Not only does it have load of fruits and veggies like strawberry, banana, blueberry, kale, broccoli, and carrot juice, but they also add cinnamon protein. This is an awesome post-workout smoothie. It gives my body the fruit and veggies it craves and it adds in that protein that I need after an intense workout.

Fusion is located downtown. They are quick and prices are cheap for what you are getting. Unlike a lot of smoothies around that claim to be healthy *cough* Jamba Juice *cough* Starbucks *cough* McDonald’s, these smoothies are ACTUALLY healthy. If you are looking for a great post workout smoothie, or even just a smoothie but you want that added protein, try Fusion and you won’t be disappointed.

Eatting burgers, french fries, cookies, etc is great and fun but I do believe in living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. These juices and smoothies help me do that. They help me enjoy the more savory foods while staying healthy, fit and nourished.

So, there ya have it! These are my favorite smoothie/juice/acai options in Spokane. They are all made with real fruits and veggies and wholesome ingredients. They are also all local, which is an added bonus! We love supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs trying to make it in this world, just like us. Keep eating, Spokane. And remember to tell them we sent you!

XOXO
