But, what makes great avocado toast? We think it starts with really great bread, so sit back, relax, and start planning your next avocado toast adventure!

The Grain Shed

(1026 E Newark Ave #2346 // 509.241.3852)

The Grain Shed is known for their bread, so you already know that their avocado toast is going to be good. All of their bread is made with fresh, stone-milled flour, cultured wheat and Sel Gris. They have seven different types of bread to choose from and you honestly couldn’t make a wrong choice. The Grain Shed has perfected their bread and their avocado toast. They slice the avocado and serve it with herbs freshly layered over the top. If you’re looking for a delicious, classic take on avocado toast, make sure you check out the Grain Shed!

Indaba Coffee

(518 W Riverside Ave // 509.822.7182)

Ah Indaba – can they do anything wrong? Not only is their coffee amazing, but they are constantly introducing new versions of avocado toast with combos like Strawberry Caprese and Bacon Avocado. Their classic, thick toast is topped with smashed avocado, bacon and radish. Indaba’s Riverside location (518 W Riverside Ave. Spokane, WA 99201) is where you can get this mouth-watering toast and with their ever-changing menu, you’ll have a few flavors to choose from!

Pathfinder Café

(3026 S Grand Blvd // 509.343.1220)

Pathfinder Café does avocado toast oh so right. The first time I tried it, I was on my way to a dinner reservation and told myself I was just going to have one bite but before I knew it, the entire piece was gone! And their slices aren’t small. They serve their toast with artisan bread, sliced avocado, a choice of mayo with a vegan option and red pepper flakes. There is a gluten-free toast option as well. This café is adorable, and their food, coffee and smoothies will make you want to come back for more!

Ladder Coffee

(1516 W Riverside Ave // 509.598.8097)

Another coffee shop that has tasty treats? We’re not mad about it. Ladder offers two types of avocado toast: Avocado Toast and Avocado Chili Lime. Not only are they both beautifully assembled, but the bread they’re served on is thick and has the perfect balance of crust and softness. Their Avocado Toast has mashed avocado, cherry tomatoes, sriracha aioli, cilantro, red pepper and toasted sesame seed. There’s even the option to add an egg to this toast! The Avocado Chili Lime toast has mashed avocado, arugula, watermelon radish, house made pickled onions, chili margarita and lime. Two great options that pair well with any drink choice or on their own!

Method Juice Cafe – Gluten Free

North side: 7704 N Division St A // 509.474.9878

Downtown: 718 W Riverside Ave #101 // 509.473.9579

Method’s avocado toast is gluten-free and the perfect bite to grab on the go! They serve it with mashed avocado with sesame seeds to top. It’s simple and the perfect savory snack to go along-side one of their smoothies or freshly pressed juices!

Bonus: Coeur d’Alene – The Wellness Bar

(312 N 4th St Coeur d’Alene, ID // 208.65.9098)

The Wellness Bar has locations in Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Post Falls so you have options! They have a ‘Toast Bar’ with a variety of sweet and savory options all made on Ezekial Bread, made from sprouted grains. My favorite is ‘The Hearty’ prepared with coconut oil, avocado, himalayan salt, hemp hearts, and chia seeds.
