EATING YOUR WAY THROUGH HOOPTOWN USA

EATING YOUR WAY THROUGH HOOPTOWN USA

June means the end of school, long nights, warm weather, and HOOPFEST, the best basketball weekend on Earth! Every year, thousands of people flock to Spokane to experience this wonderful weekend and see all that Spokane has to offer.

\While it’s only a few days long, it’s more than enough time to dive into the wonderful community of Spokane. We partnered with Hoopfest and took a deep dive into seven local restaurants in the Downtown Spokane area to give you a glimpse of what it’s like to dine RIGHT in Hooptown USA!

#1 – Yards Bruncheon

The Yards is an amazing breakfast spot. It’s surrounded by other great restaurants in Kendall Yards and is very close to where all the action takes place over the Hoopfest weekend.

We tried the Chicken n’ waffles, the Huevos Rancheros, the fall potato hash, and the fruity pebble french toast. They have something for everyone! The savory options would be great pregame fuel while the fruity pebble french toast is as sweet as a big win.

#2 – No-Li Brewhouse

No-Li Brewhouse is the perfect stop for a hearty lunch or dinner paired with a refreshing ice cold beer. In addition to the awesome space (Indoor & Outdoor) that No-Li occupies, the food that we tried was equally as impressive.

We had the cajun chicken sandwich with pasta salad, their famous epic pretzel, and their classic fish sandwich. Pair your entree with the Red, White, and Hazy IPA and you’ll be well on your way to a great day!

#3 – Gander and RyeGrass

SANDWICH HEAVEN. We tried over eight dishes and they were all jaw-droppingly delicious! From the smoked ricotta appetizer to the mushroom tagliatelle, it was clear that love was a key ingredient in these dishes.

Over Hoopfest weekend, they will have a to-go sandwich section of their menu which will be a great stop for a meal before or after a game. These aren’t your average sandwiches. They make everything from scratch and source the best ingredients to take an average sandwich from good to great! Trust us, you won’t forget about this food anytime soon.

#4 – Twigs Bistro

What a fun place to watch all things Hoopfest! The Twigs Bistro located in the Riverfront mall has the best view of Main Ave. from the third floor of River Park Square, a street that will be bustling with all sorts of traffic over the weekend. In addition to the awesome view, the restaurant has an incredible happy hour menu.

Enjoy food and drink specials every day from 3-6 pm and 9-close on weekends. Whether you’re wanting a steak salad, a bacon cheeseburger, pasta, pizza, salmon… they’ve got just what you’re looking for! Be sure to stop here for a post-game celebratory drink as well!

#5 – Method Juice Cafe

In need of something light and fruity? Look no further! From their incredible dragon acai bowl and their blue majik smoothie, to their spicy ranch rice bowl, Method will make sure that you’re feeling fresh and fueled for your upcoming game. Plus, their menu is organically sourced, mostly vegan and GLUTEN FREE!

In addition to these great menu items, you can also grab fresh juices and immunity booster shots made in house to keep you energized throughout the entire Hoopfest weekend.

#6 – Table 13 at The Davenport Grand Hotel

Time to relax and rewind with some incredible food? Table 13, located in the Davenport Grand, is the perfect stop for some delectable dishes and great ambiance.

We tried four of their dishes: the brown butter gnocchi, the brisket tacos, the brown butter salmon, and the charcuterie and cheese board. Whether you order family style or decide to have your own dish, you will be happy that you chose to dine here. Have some fun dressing up and celebrating a great Hoopfest weekend with family and friends at Table 13 at the Davenport Grand hotel!

#7 – Zona Blanca

Their “Patio Oasis” will be rocking with food and drink specials all weekend. Also there is a HUGE surface parking lot right across the street. 157 S. Howard Street – Taco specials – TJ street dogs – $7 margaritas – Happy Hour 2-5pm – Bottles of Water – Good tunes & Good vibes!

The flavors are just as vibrant as the beautiful colors in these Mexican dishes. The ceviches are refreshing and fun, a guaranteed crowd favorite that’ll keep you coming back again and again. The Dorilocos are a must try too for something you won’t try anywhere else! It’s a classic Mexico City street snack that transports your tastebuds giving you a full umami experience.
