BEST TREATS & SWEETS IN SPOKANE

BEST TREATS & SWEETS IN SPOKANE

I have a really REALLY bad sweet-tooth. I blame my mom for teaching me that it’s perfectly o.k. to eat cookies for breakfast, and after each meal, and late at night. I love you mom, and i’ll never understand how you stay so skinny.

Unlike my mom, I rarely have cookies for breakfast, but when I do, it’s Boots Bakery No-Bake Cookie.

Boots Bakery

(24 W. Main Ave. Spokane, WA // 509.703.7223)

boots no bake summer

This is hands down the tastiest no-bake cookie I have EVER had. They are chilled and moist with nuts and dried fruit. So. Dang. Good. Boots is a completely vegan & mostly gluten-free bakery. Their menu changes daily based the ingredients that are brought to them by local farmers. Stay and chill on your computer, chat with other locals, or nestle into a chair and read a book. You’ll fit right in.

The Ivory Table

(1822 E Sprague Ave, Spokane // 509.474.1300)

ivory table- dessert

There are few things better than a warm chocolate crepe. The nutella was oozing out. The chocolate to crepe ratio was just right.. The Ivory Table makes them with buckwheat so they have more of a nutty flavor which works really well! The owner studied in Europe so she knows her crepes. I’d also recommend the savory salmon crepe. They are closed on weekends for private catering events. Learn more about the Ivory Table HERE.

Morning Sun Bakery

(WHOLESALE ONLY)

morning sun cinnamon roll

I died and went to cinnamon roll heaven after trying these. If you’re a frosting lover, they have a cinnamon roll for you. If you are a maple lover, they have a cinnamon roll for you. If you are a nut lover,  they have a cinnamon roll for you. Order a dozen and take them to your next work meeting, you’re guaranteed a raise.  I’d recommend nuking them in the microwave for 10 seconds for maximum deliciousness.

The Scoop

(1001 W 25th Ave Spokane, WA// 509.535.7171)

scoop waffle

“Uniquely different and all natural, their liege waffles contain pearl sugar within yeast- raised dough. Delightfully sweet and slightly crunchy, they are great just off the iron or with their tasty toppings.”

I love their Berries & Biscoff Flavor. Cookie butter is God-sent. It’s made with Berries, Biscoff cookie butter & whipped cream. Their ice cream is really good but their Belgium waffles are what really set them apart. They can do sweet or savory and you can choose from a variety of toppings or fillings. See more HERE.

Rockwood Bakery

(315 E 18th Ave, Spokane, WA // 509.747.8691)

rockwood pie

If you want an oober soft cookie the size of your face.. then go to Rockwood Bakery on the South Hill! Also, if you want the best pumpkin pie you’ve ever consumed, then go to Rockwood Bakery. This year I celebrated National Pi Day with this moist, melt-in-your- mouth pumpkin pie! You can buy it by the slice or take home the entire pie to share.. or not share.. whatever.

High Country Orchard Ice Cream

(9919 E Greenbluff Rd, Colbert, WA // 509.238.6970)

high country ice cream

This is one of those treats that is made 10 times more enjoyable because it’s tradition and comes with fun, happy family memories. We have so many great memories exploring Greenbluff during Spokane Summers. A trip to Greenbluff on those hot summer days isn’t complete without some Huckleberry Ice Cream from High Country Orchard.

I didn’t include any of my favorite ice cream spots in Spokane because you can find a detailed list here: Spokaneeats- BEST ICE CREAM LIST.

Taste Cafe Chocolate Chip Cookie

(180 S Howard St, Spokane, WA // 509.468.2929)

taste choc chip cookie

Ok, the sandwiches and salads here are good, but the real MVP is their chocolate chip cookie. They’re thick and gooey with lots of chocolate chips, everything a chocolate chip cookie should be. If you come after 3pm they are half off!

Sweet Frosting’s Cupcakes

(15 S Washington St, Spokane, WA // 509.242.3845)

sweet frostings cupcakes

Sweet Frosting’s makes the best cupcakes, with tons of flavors to choose from. My favorites include carrot, chocolate salted caramel, lemon smoothie, and birthday cake, but really you can’t go wrong with any of them. They also do custom birthday and wedding cakes! Do yourself a favor and try one (or 12) of their cupcakes.

Greenbluff- Harvest House Pumpkin Donuts

(9919 E Greenbluff Rd, Colbert, WA // 509.238.6970)

harvest house pumpkin donut

Abs are cool but have you tried pumpkin donuts..?  Get them at Harvest House at Greenbluff. They are fresh, warm, and melt in your mouth!!! You’ve been warned. These are only available during pumpkin season, which makes them all the more special. Be prepared to wait in line, but after your first bite, you’ll forget all about the wait.

Celebrations Bakery

(713 W. Garland Ave Spokane, WA // 509.327.3471)

celebrations cakeball

Each city has a bakery like this that you look and look for, and once you find it, there is no turning back. I stumbled upon this cute bakery as I was walking around the Garland area. I mean… when I see a pink striped bakery, i’m going inside. They have a huge assortment of sweets: cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, gourmet desserts, cinnamon rolls, etc. They make everything fresh and put it right out in the display case. The birthday cake-pop was SO moist and delicious. I will never be able to understand how they get the candy coating to look so perfect. I have tried time and time again and my cake balls always end up looking like they were made by a toddler. God bless the creator of cake balls. Dockside Restaurant

 (115 S 2nd St, Coeur d’Alene, ID //208.765.4000)

dockside gooey

This is what we call a “Gooey”- cake batter ice cream, chunks of brownies and blondies, strawberry, hot fudge and huckleberry sauces, huckleberry white chocolate bark, chopped nuts and a jumbo chocolate dipped strawberry on top. Let’s just say we waddled out of there and will be hiking all around Coeur d’Alene to work this treat off. See what else we ordered HERE.

Common Crumb Bakery

(19 W Main Ave, Spokane, WA 99201 //  509.315.4948)

common crumb dessert

Common Crumb bakery is anything but common… Pumpkin & Chocolate Cheesecake Macarons: good size and texture. Molasses Cookie: Full of flavor. They are located inside Saranac Commons. (Also, their website is gorgeous. Well done!)

  1. I’m surprised that Celebrations is on the same list as Sweet Frostings. The quality of Celebrations is not near the level of Sweet Frostings. Sweet Dreams Bakery in Pounders Jewelry also has better quality goods in my opinion. I’ve always been severely disappointed by those produced at Celebrations. The cake isn’t as moist as the other bakeries and the frosting has a slight gritty texture instead of being smooth and creamy.
