10 SPOKANE COFFEE SHOPS – great for working/studying

Spokane-land is a jewel for many reasons, but two of our favorites are the wonderful college universities and the killer coffee shops. To accent your Autumn, we’ve made a list of the best cafes for you to bundle up & hunker down to get some work done. College students, this one’s for you.

1. Arctos Coffee (1923 North Hamilton St Spokane, WA // 509.413.2362)

Arctos tops our list as the most friendly cafes for college students to study. With quality beans from Costa Rica, flags proudly representing Eastern, Gonzaga, and Whitworth, Arctos offers an incredibly friendly atmosphere for students to get work done.

WiFi: Yes

Weekend Hours: 7 AM – 6 PM  (Sunday close at 5 PM)

2.  Cedar Coffee (701 N Monroe Spokane, WA 99201 // 509.315.5811)

A cozy, traditional shop with recent expansion, Cedar boasts plenty of seating. Owned by a couple who moved from Ukraine in 2015, Cedar has a front room with tables that offer views of Monroe street and a cozy backroom. Big windows and a calm atmosphere, what better place for some studying/daydreaming?

3. Rocket Bakery (1325 W 1st Ave, Spokane, WA 99201 // 509.747.1834)

Kitty Corner from Ladder, we chose this Rocket Bakery location for its many tables and chairs along with great selection of pastries, bagels, salads, and drinks. Located on one of the coolest streets in downtown Spokane, this location makes you feel a bit like a New Yorker.

Weekend Hours: 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Sunday close at 6 PM)

4. Vessel Coffee Roasters (2823 N Monroe St, Spokane, WA 99205)

A coffee roasting company based out of Spokane, Vessel offers lots of light, industrial chic vibes and has plentiful seating. With unique seasonal drink options and beautiful plant life, what’s not to love?

Weekend Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

5. Ladder Coffee & Toast (1516 W Riverside Ave, Spokane, WA 99201 // 602.689.8545)

Natural light, uniquely crafted drinks, and savory artisan bread are the name of the game at Ladder Coffee & Toast. Situated at the entrance of the historic Browne’s Addition, Ladder is the perfect place for a productive day. Stir crazy while studying here? Check out the new shops in the building (Fern Plant Shop, the Lookout).

6. Indaba  (419 N Nettleton St. Spokane, WA 99201 // 509-868-0421)

With locations sprinkled all over Spokane, Indaba offers a modern feel and incredible coffee. For studying, our favorite location is the Riverside Cafe. It boasts a downtown location with plentiful seating and great bites.

Our runner up is the Nettleton location situated right next to the beautiful centennial trail. Hungry? Donut fear, this location is shared with Hello Sugar donuts for a sweet study snack.

7. The Shop (924 S. Perry St. Spokane, WA 99202 // 509.534.1647)

If you’re up for an exciting environment while working, The Shop is the place for you. A dynamic space serving sandwiches, healthy bowls, ice cream, drinks, and other eats, one could spend their whole day working away at The Shop (seriously though, their store hours are pretty sweet).

Weekend Hours: 6:00 AM – 9:00  PM (Sunday close at 8 PM)

8. Boots Bakery (24 W Main Ave, Spokane, WA 99201 // 509.534.1647)

Boots Bakery sports a funky farm-to-table vibe with long tables that are perfect for group projects and wonderful outdoor seating on the sunnier days. A vegan and gluten free menu, this spot provides spectacular service and is always welcoming to students.

WiFi: Yes

Weekend Hours: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Sunday close at 6 PM)

9. Rockwood Bakery (315 E 18th Ave, Spokane, WA 99203 // 509.747.8691)

The famous Rockwood Bakery is the perfect place to go if you have reading to do. While this spot does not have WiFi, it does offer a generous selection of muffins, breads, and other sweet treats. Venture to Rockwood upon first snowfall (which may be approaching earlier than we’d think, this year!), and you will find the Manito streets to be a picturesque place for a study-break stroll.

Pro Tip: We hear their cranberry orange scone is next level.

10. Atticus (222 N Howard St Spokane WA 99201 // 509.747.0336)

Oh, Atticus. While lacking WiFi on weekends, Atticus is a Spokane staple that every student must visit at least once. The smell of toasty baguette sandwiches, homemade peanut butter cookies, and quality coffee waft in the air as you snuggle into your seat.

Take a study break to peruse the gift shop’s generous selection of candles, prints of Spokane neighborhoods by local artists, and quality journals.

WiFi: On weekdays

Weekend Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (Sunday 9 AM – 5 PM)
