The Lantern Taphouse is one of the awesomely unique, local places to choose from on Perry Street, on the South Hill. Aside from their fantastic environment and interior (rustic feeling with exposed brick walls and artwork for sale), this is the perfect place to enjoy some great food/drinks and just hang out. If you’re in a hurry, I’d recommend you go somewhere else. After looking at their restaurant week menu, we decided this was somewhere we had to try. How could we resist “Reuben Eggrolls”? That’s a combo dreams are made of

My main course was Chicken Bacon Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. How beautiful was their presentation? It’s practically pulled straight out of a magazine. I loved how this gnocchi wasn’t drenched in sauce. It was generous in flavor and each piece was delicately covered in just the right amount of sauce. The bacon flavor really pulled through in every bite and the chicken was grilled and sliced. The perfect portion size with an added cheese shell. Great dish!
We finished with an ooey, gooey, warm double chocolate ice cream cookie sandwich. Vanilla ice cream in between a double chocolate chip cookie, garnished with pink Himalayan salt. The sea salt was a perfect compliment to an already irresistible dessert. My husband mentioned, “I think I just tasted salt.” I then explained to him that yes, it is topped with sea salt. He thinks all ice cream should now be served salted! Great food in a rustic environment- thank you Lantern Taphouse!
